Party All Night

I felt lonely when- I was at my own birthday party

I threw myself a big party for my 25th birthday. I thought I’d feel happy to have all my friends and family meeting me. When everyone came, I moved from group to group, trying to talk to everyone, trying to soak it all in. 

The conversations washed over me, barely leaving a mark. I threw this party to celebrate me, but I didn’t feel connected to anyone.
